Hv Overhead Line

HV overhead lines are crucial facilities in power systems used for long-distance, high-capacity power transmission. They typically refer to conductor systems with voltage levels above 1kV, erected on poles and exposed to the air, and are widely used in main transmission lines and urban and rural power supply networks.

Description

Product Description

Our HV overhead lines consist of six parts: conductors, lightning protection wires, insulators, poles, hardware, and foundation guy wires. For the conductors, we use steel-cored aluminum stranded wire, balancing conductivity and mechanical strength. The lightning protection wires, erected above the conductors, rapidly conduct lightning current to the ground, ensuring the safe operation of the line. Pole materials can be selected according to requirements, including concrete, angle steel, and steel pipe towers. Due to their superior performance, our HV overhead lines have been widely used in power transmission projects in many countries.

Product Feature And Application

Long-term maximum permissible operating temperature: PVC and PE insulation should not exceed 70℃; XLPE should not exceed 90℃.

During a short circuit, the maximum duration should not exceed 5 seconds. Maximum conductor temperature: PVC insulation should not exceed 130℃; PE insulation should not exceed 150℃; XLPE should not exceed 250℃.

Permissible bending radius for cables: For 10kV and 35kV cables: the permissible bending radius for single-core cables is 20(D+d); the permissible bending radius for multi-core cables is 15(D+d); where D is the actual outer diameter of the cable and d is the actual outer diameter of the conductor. For 1kV cables: for cables with an outer diameter (D) less than 25mm, the bending radius should not be less than 4D; for cables with an outer diameter (D) greater than or equal to 25mm, the bending radius should not be less than 6D.

Cable laying temperature: should not be less than -20℃.

FAQ

Q: How to Choose the Right High-Voltage Overhead Line Model?

A: Selecting the appropriate high-voltage overhead line type requires consideration of voltage level, conductor material, insulation type, and environmental conditions. JKLGYJ (steel-cored aluminum stranded wire + cross-linked polyethylene insulation) is the preferred choice, combining high mechanical strength with good electrical performance, suitable for 10–35kV main lines. Voltage level determines insulation requirements: below 10kV, JKLYJ or lightweight JKLGYJ/Q are commonly used; JKLGYJ is recommended for 35kV; above 66kV, bare conductors (such as LGJ) are often used.
