Product Application
When the voltage of a transmission line exceeds 220kV, expanded diameter conductors are typically used to reduce line reactance and corona losses. Expanded diameter conductors are made by hollowing out ordinary conductors or reducing the number of single wires in some layers, ultimately increasing the effective radius of the conductor. Expanded diameter conductors have significant application potential in ultra-high voltage and extra-high voltage transmission projects, especially in high-altitude areas where they hold even greater promise.
