Description

ACSR Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced is an overhead transmission conductor made of aluminum wires concentrically stranded around a galvanized steel core. The aluminum layer carries current, while the steel core bears mechanical load.

Products Description

ACSR Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced uses a galvanized steel core with multiple hard-drawn aluminum wires (1350-H19) stranded on the outside. Aluminum has low density and good conductivity, while steel has high tensile strength. The combination suits long-span overhead lines. The steel core mainly bears mechanical tension, preventing the conductor from breaking during long-span, long-distance installation. The outer aluminum wires carry current, and the skin effect reduces the impact of the steel core's lower conductivity on transmission efficiency. Based on the aluminum-to-steel cross-sectional area ratio, it is classified into standard, light-duty and reinforced types, widely used in transmission and distribution lines of various voltage levels.

FAQ

What are the requirements for stringing tension during installation of ACSR Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced?

Stringing tension should be controlled within the design range to avoid permanent elongation of the aluminum wires due to excessive tension. If the tension is too low, the conductor tends to jump on the pulleys, causing wire misalignment. Pulleys matching the conductor outer diameter should be used during stringing, with the groove bottom diameter recommended to be no less than 15 times the conductor outer diameter.

What should be noted during transportation and storage of this product?

Reels should be kept upright and not laid flat or rolled, to avoid scratching the aluminum surface. The storage area should be dry and well ventilated. Avoid long-term open-air storage, which may cause the wooden reel structure to absorb moisture and deform. Use suitable lifting equipment during loading and unloading, and avoid direct contact of wire ropes with the conductor outer layer.

How should the appearance of this product be inspected upon delivery?

Check whether the reel markings match the order in terms of type, specification and length, and inspect the reel for transport impact marks. After opening the outer wrapping, observe whether the aluminum surface is smooth and free from excessive grease, scratches or broken strands. If any abnormality is found, take photos at the time of receipt and report it promptly.
