AAC All Aluminum Conductor is a bare conductor concentrically stranded from hard-drawn aluminum wires, with a minimum aluminum purity of 99.7%. It is used for overhead transmission and distribution lines.
Products Description
AAC All Aluminum Conductor uses electrolytically refined aluminum as raw material, with a 1350-H19 hard-drawn aluminum wire concentric stranding construction. The conductor may be single-layer or multi-layer stranded. Because it does not contain magnetic reinforcement such as a steel core, AAC has no hysteresis loss and lower AC resistance. The natural oxide film on the aluminum surface gives it good corrosion resistance in coastal and industrial environments. AAC has a lower strength-to-weight ratio than ACSR and AAAC, so it is mainly used for distribution lines with shorter spans, with limited application in long-span transmission lines.

FAQ
What is the material difference between AAC All Aluminum Conductor and AAAC?
AAC uses 1350-H19 pure aluminum wires, with a minimum aluminum purity of 99.7%. AAAC uses 6201 aluminum alloy wires, with strength improved by adding magnesium and silicon and applying heat treatment. Both are all-aluminum constructions without a steel core, but AAAC has noticeably higher strength than AAC.
What are the requirements for insulators during installation of this product?
Insulators matching the conductor outer diameter should be used to avoid squeezing the conductor due to an undersized insulator groove. Use aluminum armor tape or dedicated tie wire during tying, and do not use iron wire directly. After installation, check the conductor surface for smoothness, scratches or broken strands.
What changes will occur on the conductor surface when this product operates long-term in a humid environment?
A thin, dense oxide film naturally forms on the aluminum surface, preventing further oxidation of the inner metal. This oxide film protects the conductor in humid environments. If white powder appears on the surface, it is usually aluminum oxide, which does not affect the internal performance of the conductor but increases contact resistance. The oxide film should be removed before crimping at joints.
